Why we use them: This is the same set of rods and papers Sharlene and the whole Circles of Hair team use for every perm. We’ve tried every rod, every paper and every perm solution, and these are the ones we keep coming back to. We import them ourselves through our own warehouse in Japan. That’s how serious we are about perms, and now we’re sharing them with you.
Not sure which Windy sizes to buy, or how many? This kit has enough of the most-used sizes to do a full-head perm in any curl, with plenty to spare. 220 rods in total.
What’s inside
- 3 boxes each of F-W10, F-W11, F-W12, F-W13, F-W15 and F-W17: 30 rods of each main size
- 2 boxes of F-W20: 20 rods
- 1 box each of F-W8 and F-W9: 10 rods each, for the nape and hairline
- 2 boxes of EVERMATE Kisuki Mesh L end papers, 1,000 sheets each
- 2 packs of EVERMATE Rod Sticks, 120 sticks, to slip under the band and stop band marks
- 1 NEW EVER Three-Hole Applicator Bottle, 180 ml, to coat each rod in one pass
- 1 EVERMATE F-Type Applicator Bottle, 260 ml, with an adjustable nozzle for the nape, hairline and underneath sections
Every box holds 10 rods.
Why the Windy windows matter
- Lighter on the client: up to 25% lighter than a solid rod, so a full head is more comfortable to sit in
- More even results: solution reaches the inner layers of the hair through the windows, not just the outside of the wind
- Made for water-wrap and creep perms: water and air get through to the hair as well
- Faster, cleaner rinsing: water flows straight through, and the rods float so end papers come away easily
- Still tough: a special structure keeps them as durable as solid rods
Which sizes go where
- F-W8 to F-W10: tight curls, short hair, nape and hairline
- F-W11 to F-W13: defined, springy curls
- F-W15 to F-W17: natural, everyday waves
- F-W20: soft body and volume through the crown
For loose body waves on long hair, add the bigger F-W23 to F-W32 sizes. Each size is also sold on its own for top-ups.
Recommended bands
Standard office rubber bands: size No. 14 for F-W8 to F-W13 and No. 16 for F-W15 to F-W20.
Perm solution
We use and recommend REF Stockholm perm solution. In Australia you can buy it through Smiths Collective Brands.
